24 September ~ 22 October 2022  (Forum Day - November 4) (KST)

Background

On 4 November 2022, the 1stJeju International Future Generation Forum(hereinafter “JIFF”) will be held in Jeju, South Korea and live-streamed globally, hosted by Jeju Special Self-governing Province Office and co-organized by United Nations Institute for Training And Research(UNITAR) CIFAL Jeju.

The world has increasingly recognized that young people have much to contribute to promoting educational equality, environmental protection, health and wellbeing, and sustainable development in all corners of the globe. The United Nations acknowledges this in its Youth 2030 Strategy and aims to engage with and support young people to create a more peaceful and sustainable world.[1]In this regard, the Forum will convene over 100 youth and young adults around the world to empower them as future global leaders. They will be given opportunities to discuss global agendas and exchange ideas with a special focus on Sustainable Development Goals for a better common future for all.

The Youth Leadership Training Program as part of the Forum will run for 5 weeks, starting on 24 September 2022. Focusing on youth empowerment to advance Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the young leaders will take part in virtual or in-person sessions from September to October, and the event will culminate with the SDGs Policy contest on Forum Day on 4 November 2022.

Throughout the training program, participants will have insights into best practices and global trends in sustainable development for communities. They will build a network of experts and common-minded peers, working collaboratively on developing innovative solutions to global and social issues.
