We are delighted to announce that the 2024 Jeju International Future Generation Forum (JIFF) will be held from November 1 to 3, 2024, hosted by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and co-organized with the UNITAR CIFAL Jeju.
The Forum presents an excellent opportunity for approximately 50 young leaders from Jeju and Jeju’s sister cities to explore global issues, promote youth empowerment, and create concrete measures and strategies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Background
On 4 November 2022, the 1stJeju International
Future Generation Forum(hereinafter “JIFF”) will be held in Jeju,
South Korea and live-streamed globally, hosted by Jeju Special Self-governing
Province Office and co-organized by United Nations Institute for Training And Research(UNITAR)
CIFAL Jeju.
The world has increasingly
recognized that young people have much to contribute to promoting educational
equality, environmental protection, health and wellbeing, and sustainable
development in all corners of the globe. The United Nations acknowledges this
in its Youth 2030
Strategy and aims to engage with and
support young people to create a more peaceful and sustainable world.[1]In this regard, the Forum
will convene over 100 youth and young adults around the world to empower them as
future global leaders. They will be given opportunities to discuss global
agendas and exchange ideas with a special focus on Sustainable Development
Goals for a better common future for all.
The Youth Leadership Training Program as part of the
Forum will run for 5 weeks, starting on 24 September 2022. Focusing on youth
empowerment to advance Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), the young leaders will take part in virtual or in-person sessions from
September to October, and the event will culminate with the SDGs Policy contest on Forum Day on 4 November 2022.
Throughout the training program, participants will have insights into
best practices and global trends in sustainable development for communities. They
will build a network of experts and common-minded peers, working collaboratively
on developing innovative solutions to global and social issues.

discussion on youth empowerment to build a resilient society in the post-COVID

of Sustainable Development Goals in areas of education equality, environment,
decent jobs for youth, and health and wellbeing. Understand

youth and young adults with 20~39 years of age regardless of nationality and
educational background

of 8 teams based on their choice of sub-topics.

Requirements
Selected participants are required to:
Make sure your attendance is at over 80% rate
Keep cameras on during the workshop sessions
Be active to engage with team members and respect different cultures and views
Be passionate to succeed and make a positive impact on your community

*During this Pre-training program,
youth participants will work together with their team members to develop
(1)Policy Proposal and (2)Youth Empowerment Campaign and will give a
presentation on (1) and (2) final outcomes on the Forum Day on Friday,
November 4.
