UNITAR Jeju International Training Center organized an Online Workshop on Insights into SDGs, Challenges of Implementation and Tasks Ahead on March 25, 2024. This Workshop was arranged to motivate the international community to work harder to achieve the faithful implementation of the UN SDGs and recognize again its significance, given its sluggish and lack of progress despite the approaching deadline for the UN SDGs by 2030. The Workshop, registered by 213 participants from 29 countries, covered topics such as background of the SDGs, comparison with the MDGs, its 17 goals and 169 specific targets. Participants also learned about how to well prepare Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) and Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs), which are keys to facilitate the implementation of the SDGs, as well as the evaluation mechanism of the implementation degree run by the UN ESCAP. They also discussed factors constraining their full implementation and explored strategies to overcome them. 

UNITAR 제주국제연수센터는 ‘UN 지속가능한발전목표(SDGs)의 이해, 이행과제, 그리고 앞으로의 도전’을 주제로 한 온라인 워크숍을 2024년 3월 25일 개최하였다. 금번 워크숍은 2030 달성 시한이 다가오는 UN SDGs의 이행이 지연되고 있는 상황을 감안하여 이의 이행을 촉진하고 중요성을 재인식한다는 차원에서 개최되었는데, 29개국의 213명이 참가하였다. UN SDGs의 채택 배경과 MDGs와의 차이점 및 17개 목표와 169개 세부목표를 파악하고 SDGs 이행 주요 수단인 자발적 국가검토(VNRs)와 자발적 지역검토(VLRs) 준비 방안, UN 아태경제사회위원회(UNESCAP)의 UN SDGs 이행평가 모델 등을 알아보았으며 SDGs 이행제약 요인과 극복방안 등을 모색하였다.
