2020, Jeju, Republic of Korea - The International Training Centre for
Authorities and Leaders in Jeju (CIFAL Jeju) successfully concluded a
series of learning webinars on “Financial Inclusion and Boosting Prosperity”.
The webinar aimed to help the rural communities in Asia and Pacific to seize
the opportunities generated by the recent developments in inclusive finance,
and to give guidance to policy makers in the region on their policy attempts
towards inclusive and sustainable future.
The webinar
featured high profile speakers, including Mr. Sameer Goyal from World Bank
Group, Mr. Ajay Jagannath from UNCDF, and Ms. Giulia Zaratti from UNCDF, who
covered topics related to inclusive finance. After the presentations,
participants had the opportunity to engage in a panel discussion around the
topic “What are the key priorities in implementing strategies and policies on financial
inclusion in different national settings?”
Twenty-seven participants from the Asia-Pacific region,
including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, the Philippines, India, Indonesia,
Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, engaged in the discussions and expressed their
satisfaction with the organization of the events.
