The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is a dedicated training arm of the United Nations, serving more than 130,000 beneficiaries annually by conducting close to 700 training and research activities around the world.
Centred around the beneficiaries it serves, UNITAR’s work targets two key sets of stakeholders: Government officials, the delegates to the UN and others who develop intergovernmental agreements establishing global norms, policies, and programmes, and the key national change agents who turn the global agreements into action.
Headquartered in Geneva, 3 out-posted offices (New York - USA, Hiroshima - Japan, Bonn - Germany), 2 UNITAR_UNOSAT Centres (Bangkok - Thailand, Nairobi - Kenya), 31 affiliated training centres (CIFAL Global Network).
