2020, Jeju, Republic of Korea - The International Training Centre for
Authorities and Leaders in Jeju (CIFAL Jeju) successfully concluded a
series of learning webinars on “Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Growth for
Shared Prosperity”. The webinar aimed to raise participants’ awareness on the
critical issue of value of inclusive and sustainable economic development in
the context of 2030 agenda for sustainable development and expand networks and
identify partners with expertise to assist governments to improve their
practices.
The webinar
featured a high-profile speaker from the KDI school of Public Policy and
Management, Professor Joshua Merfeld, who spoke to shared prosperity, as well
as challenges to sustained development. After the presentation, participants
had the opportunity to engage in panel discussion, through which they discussed
cases in different national settings.
Thirty
participants from a variety of countries, including Bangladesh, Bhutan,
Philippines, India, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Peru, and Ethiopia were actively
engaged in the discussions and expressed their satisfaction with the
organization of the events.
