Jeju International Future Generation Forum (JIFF) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and
the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Jeju
International Training Center will co-organize the 2nd Jeju International Future
Generation Forum (JIFF) from November 24th to 26th, 2023 in Jeju Island. The Forum,
titled ‘A Sustainable Future through the Language of Youth', will be
held with the aim of reimagining, and articulating a sustainable future through
the voices of young people.
We are excited to announce that
applications are now open for the Youth Steering Committee of the 2nd JIFF. We
are looking for enthusiastic and competitive individuals who are passionate
about shaping the future. As a Youth Steering Committee member, you will have
the opportunity to contribute innovative ideas and visions to the planning and
implementation stages of the Forum by leading and working together with other
participants within each thematic group, and your voice will be heard by
influential figures from around the world.
The 2nd JIFF will focus on four sub-themes, and applicants for the Youth Steering Committee are requested to select their two preferred topics and include them in their application form to be submitted online.
The 2nd JIFF promises to be an enriching experience, and we eagerly await the active participation and contributions of youth leaders. By collaborating at the Forum, we can collectively address global challenges and foster impactful leadership. We strongly look forward to receiving numerous applications and welcoming the participation of passionate youth individuals to the Steering Committee. Let us seize this opportunity to develop leadership skills and collectively tackle global issues.

Objectives
of Steering Committee
- Encourage active participation and contributions from youth leaders. - Strengthen global leadership through youth-led planning and initiatives. - Advocate for the implementation of youth recommendations from the Forum to high-level figures. - Facilitate immersive sessions for enhanced participant engagement and experiences. - Provide a glocal (global + local) experience by integrating Jeju's unique culture and environment. 3.
Schedule
of Steering Committee
The
main event will be held from November 24th to 26th, 2023 in Jeju Island, with
approximately five preparatory activities (meetings) including one Orientation
(OT) Session scheduled prior to the Forum. 4.
Eligibility
for Steering Committee
We welcome youth individuals between the ages of 19 and 39, residing in Jeju, whether Korean nationals or foreign residents, to apply for the eight available positions on the Youth Steering Committee (2 members per each sub-theme, total of 8 members). 5.
Roles of Steering
Committee Members
- Planning and discussing ideas related to their assigned themes. - Collaborating with other participants and demonstrating leadership. - Members will be assigned a topic for the Youth Forum Group Parallel Action Plenary. - Members will conduct thorough research on the assigned topic and prepare draft paper of the Recommendation to the Forum. 6.
