From the 24th to the 26th of November, the 2023 Jeju International Future Generation Forum (JIFF) took place over three days at the Center for Social Connectivity of Jeju and various locations across the province. The main theme for this Forum was "A Sustainable Future through the Language of Youth," where young people from overseas cities engaging with Jeju came together to discuss global issues and explore practical approaches for sustainable development goals. With the participation of over 60 youths, including those from 13 countries and 25 cities, as well as Jeju's young population, the Forum aimed to foster discussions through Parallel Sessions, Parallel Action Sessions, Roundtable Discussion Session, and Declaration of the Recommendations from the Youth. Additionally, participants were set to embark on Site Visit Sessions to Jeju-si downtown city and Geomun Oreum UNESCO World Natural Heritage to explore Jeju's pure culture and environment.

The opening ceremony featured an opening performance by the band Lee Kang, welcoming remarks and speeches, the screening of introduction videos for the forum and participating cities, the appointment ceremony for Jeju Public Diplomacy Friends, a congratulatory performance by the Jeju University Orchestra, and an introduction to the Youth Steering Committee. Prominent figures attending the opening ceremony included Governor Young Hun OH of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Director Byung Hwa CHUNG of UNITAR Jeju International Training Center, President Eel Hwan KIM of Jeju National University, Consul-General Luxin WANG of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Jeju, and Consul-General Katsutoshi TAKEDA of Consulate-General of Japan in Jeju. All the speakers emphasized the province's youth policy, designed to empower young people to solve problems from their perspective, and hoped the forum would serve as a practical network securing youth sovereignty. Following the opening ceremony, participants engaged in simultaneous sessions on 4 sub-thematic topics; environmental sustainability, equality and justice, prosperity and innovation, and global Jeju.

UNITAR 제주국제연수센터는 제주특별자치도와 함께 '청년의 언어로 그리는 지속가능한 미래'를 주제로 한 2023 제주국제청년포럼(JIFF)을 11월 24일부터 26일까지 제주시소통협력센터에서 성공적으로 개최하였다. 금번 포럼은 청년준비위원회의 사전 선발을 통해 국내외 청년들이 주도적으로 참여하였으며, 13개국 25개 도시의 청년과 제주의 청년 등 60명 이상이 참가하여, 동시세션과 원탁회의토론 그리고 이행제안서 선언 등을 통해 참가자들의 적극적인 참여와 구체적 결과물(이행제안서)을 도출하였다. 또한, 대면 행사 개최로 제주 현장방문 프로그램을 통해 현장감을 살려 참가자들에게 의미 있는 경험이 되었다.

참가자들은 또한 제주시 원도심 투어와 세계자연유산인 거문오름을 탐방하면서 제주의 유니크한 문화와 환경을 경험하는 현장 방문 세션에 참여했다. 이를 통해 참가자들은 지속가능한 미래에 대한 구체적이고 다양한 생각을 나누며 지속가능발전목표의 구체적 실천 방안을 모색하는 시간을 보낼 수 있었다.

개막식에서는 밴드이강의 개막식 축하공연부터 환영사 및 축사, 참가 도시 소개 비디오 상영, 제주 공공외교 프렌즈 임명식, 제주대학교 오케스트라 축하공연 및 청년준비위원회 소개 등 다채로운 행사가 진행되었다. 개막식에 참석한 주요 인사로는 제주특별자치도 오영훈 도지사, UNITAR 국제연수센터 정병화 소장, 제주대학교 김일환 총장, 중화인민공화국 주제주총영사관 왕루신 총영사, 일본국 주제주총영사관 다케다 가츠토시 총영사 등이 참석하였다. 이들은 각자의 분야에서의 경험을 바탕으로 청년들을 자신들의 시각으로 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 하는 청년 정책을 강조하며, 금번 포럼이 청년 주권을 확보하는 실질적인 글로벌 교류의 장이 될 것을 기대했다. 개막식 이후에는 지속가능한 환경, 평등과 정의, 번영과 혁신, 글로벌 제주와 같은 4가지 소주제에 대한 동시 세션이 진행되었고, 이를 통해 국내외 참가자들은 다양한 관점에서 문제를 바라보고 토론하며 더욱 풍부한 경험을 쌓을 수 있었다.
