UNITAR Jeju International Training Center (JITC) held an online capacity building Workshop on Enabling Peace through the Promotion of Decent Work and Employment for All on April 11 ~ 12, 2024. The Workshop, attended by 418 participants from 42 countries, aimed to enhance understanding of the contribution of decent work and employment to the peacebuilding and conflict resolution. In particular, participants explored how employment and decent work as well as transition from informal to formal economy could sustain peace with the examples of forcibly displaced persons and refugees. In addition, they shared a successful program run by the Department of Business Administration of one University which has been enabling refugees to find decent job opportunities through their access to higher education.
UNITAR 제주국제연수센터는 2024년 4월 11일 ~ 12일 양일간 '모두를 위한 양질의 일자리와 고용 촉진 그리고 평화 구축'을 주제로 온라인 워크숍을 개최하였다. 42개국 418명이 참석한 워크숍은 주로 양질의 일자리가 평화 구축에 기여하는데 대한 참석자의 이해를 도모하기 위해 마련되었다. 특히 양질의 일자리와 고용, 비공식 경제에서 공식 경제로의 전환 등이 평화 구축에 기여하는 방안을 강제 이주민 및 피난민 등의 사례 등을 통해 살펴보았다. 또한 경영대학에서 피난민 대상 고등교육 진입 학습 제공 등을 통한 양질의 일자리 창출 모범사례도 살펴보았다.
